Coolidge Point Reservation
What is it?
Coolidge Point Reservation is a stunning scenic reserve with beautiful ocean views and woodland hikes. It is managed by the Trustees of Reservations and located on Summer Street (Rt. 127) in Manchester-by-the-Sea.
Why Visit?
Coolidge Reservation feels like nature’s version of a speakeasy! You start off walking through an unassuming forest that takes you on a secret adventure to expansive rolling ocean lawns and breathtaking rocky bluffs! Be sure to bring your blanket and picnic because this is the perfect spot to lazily enjoy the view with snacks. If you’re in for more adventure, you might find yourself bouldering, tide pooling or hiking Bungalow Hill. Want to get your steps in? Walk along Clarke Pond and the surrounding wetlands to see snapping turtles and snowy egrets.
Rafes Chasm
What is it?
Tucked away at 138 Hesperus Ave in Gloucester’s charming Magnolia neighborhood. This 10-acre park is where rocky cliffs meet jaw-dropping ocean views. Parking is limited, which means fewer crowds and a more peaceful experience. It’s like having this stunning spot all to yourself!
Why Visit?
Looking for a short hike with a big payoff? This place delivers, offering incredible open ocean views and a slice of serenity. The walk is short but the rewards are massive. How short you ask? Less than a quarter mile to get to this beauty! It’s our go-to spot when we’re feeling low on effort but we need a big reward. Rafe’s Chasm is a quick escape into the wild beauty of Gloucester’s coastline.This is quintessential instant gratification- a little hike with a lot of wow! So take a leisurely stroll and soak in the ocean air. You deserve a win.

Hailbut Point State Park
What is it?
Located at 4 Gott Avenue in Rockport, Halibut Point is a local gem. As part of the Massachusetts State Park system, this destination boasts a unique coastal landscape, a historic granite quarry, and scenic walking views.

This spot offers a fun and walkable escape with plenty of opportunities to soak in the charm of the coast. Kick off your journey by hiking the loop trail—it’ll take you past the fascinating old Rockport Quarry. If you’re a history buff, you’re in for a treat! The quarry holds secrets of early settlers and World War II. Be sure to check the park schedule for guided tours that delve you into the rich granite history of the area. Breakwater and Eastern Point Lighthouse
